About Dr. Mark Warfel

Dr. W. Mark Warfel is a fully trained plastic surgeon with over 16 years of experience, specializing in minimal incision techniques for cosmetic facial and breast surgery.


The modern short scar facelift technique he uses is safer, more natural looking, and has a dramatically reduced recovery time. Breast implants, lifts and reductions are also done with minimal hidden incisions, for a natural long lasting result.


Dr. Warfel strives for a natural looking final result. The difference is in the details of the technique. A highly trained artist and surgeon, the doctor creates for you the youthful natural look he is known for.




Dr. Warfel attended High School in southern California, and at age 18 was awarded a scholarship to art school for his work in sculpture. There he completed studies in painting, sculpture, photography, and life drawing.


Dr Warfel attended University of California at Irvine where he studied premedical courses.


At Bucknell University in Pennsylvania, he studied Biology and Studio Art. Dr. Warfel also studied Art in Vienna, Austria for one year. He graduated Cum Laude from Bucknell with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art.


Dr. Warfel attended Medical School at NIT for four years. Clinical training included work in multiple specialties at over 16 different hospitals in New YorK City.


Three years of residency in General Surgery were completed at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, a University Hospital of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. As part of this residency Dr Warfel worked as part of many surgical teams in addition to general surgery, including Pediatric Surgery, Emergency Room, Surgical intensive Care Unit, Endoscopic Surgery, Urology, Colonoscopy, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, and was chief resident of Neurosurgery for six months.


Three years of residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery were completed at St.Luke's / Roosevelt Hospital Center, a University Hospital of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. As Part of his Plastic Surgery residency, Dr. Warfel studied at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, and was part of the Head and Neck Surgery team. Dermatology training was done at NYU Langone Medical Center. The doctor also participated in several charity trips to Central America, part of a surgery team devoted to giving their skills to help underprivileged and / or impoverished children and adults suffering from cleft lip and palate, and other conditions.


Dr Warfel was the Chief Resident of plastic surgery at St Luke's / Roosevelt Hospital Center 1998-1999.


Dr. Warfel is now in private practice in New York City, with hospital affiliation with St Lukes/Roosevelt hospital Center (now re-named Sinai West). In 2011 Dr Warfel opened a Joint Commission certified ambulatory surgery center at 635 Madison Avenue. At the center Dr Warfel holds office hours and performs the majority of surgical cases. He attends the annual international meetings of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
